The South County Fire District responded with five engines Monday to a house fire in the Holiday Lake Estates area in Morgan Hill.

The fire was called in about 5:40 p.m. Monday by numerous residents in the area of Butterfly Lane, near Manzanita Drive, according to South County Fire spokesman Jim Crawford.

When the first engine arrived, the fire reportedly had consumed the rear deck and one side of the two-story home, Crawford said. Crews are still battling the fire, and attempting to determine if any pets that might have been inside the home were able to make it out.

All occupants were out of the home when engines arrived, and no injuries have been reported, Crawford said.

Emergency radio reports at about 6:20 p.m. indicated the residents of the home needed assistance from the American Red Cross to find a place to sleep Monday night.
