Dear Editor,
Well, I didn’t get to go for a ride in Jeramy’s “BajaBug” but I did get take a class with him in high school. When I first think of him I see his bright eyes and him smiling like he is up to something mischievous. He always was. He always had me laughing in class and Mr. Santos would have to tell Jeramy, Gino and I to pay attention.
Jeramy and Gino started calling me “MONI-Q” when they first found out my name (my name is Monique). Everyday as I was walking to class I would hear someone yelling from almost across campus, “MONI-Q!!” If it wasn’t Gino, it was Jeramy. And he would have that big smile he always had every time I seen him and then we’d both laugh and wave.
We only had one class together but we always talked and said hi to each other after that. He always had a joke about something and was always daring Gino to do funny things in class. Not a trouble maker, just a prankster. We all know that. He was a very kind hearted and funny person and I will never forget meeting Jeramy in class, or the nickname he gave me. I am glad that I had the opportunity to be touched by such an angel.
Jeramy touched a lot of people here at home as well as over there in Iraq. We have all read the stories about his gifts to the Iraqi children and how he helped them. It was in his heart and that’s what he did. My prayers are with you Joel and Lana and the rest of the Ailes family, we all miss him and will never forget him.
