in Elk Grove, Ca on April 3, 2005 surrounded by his loving
family.
John R. Kado, a long time Gilroy resident, passed away at home in Elk Grove, Ca on April 3, 2005 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 2, 1923 in San Juan Bautista and moved to Gilroy in 1947. He married Alice (Fujimoto) on July 3, 1949. John lived and farmed in Gilroy for over 50 years. After a severe stroke in 1996 both he and his wife, Alice, moved to Elk Grove in 1998. He was active in the Japanese American Citizen’s League and in the local Buddhist Church. He is survived by Alice Kado, his wife of 55 years and children Leonard (Linda), Randolph (Laureen), Sherilyn Fry (Ian), Nora Matlen (Joe) and 13 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Elsie Konno (Kay), numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
