Joshua “Bubba” Robert Horn died of natural causes at his residence in Watsonville on Thursday, March 11. He was 20 years old.
Bubba graduated from San Benito High School in 2002. He played nose-tackle for the San Benito High School football team when they won the CCS championship in 2002. He currently played for the Rams at Gavilan College where he was attending. “Everything was football. He loved all sports as a participant as well as a observer,” said his mother. “He was active with the wrestling team at San Benito High.” He also worked as a carpet and vinyl installer for Britt’s Floor Covering in Hollister.
Horn is survived by his mother Arlene Horn, of Hollister; father Robert Horn, of Whittier; stepfather Orin Stuart, of Hollister; stepmother Rachel Haggard, of Whittier; brother Kyle Horn, of Hollister; and grandmother Marie Horn, of Watsonville. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Flora Monroe, of Salinas; David Hornbeck, of Northridge; Claro Cabading, of Honolulu, Hawaii; Gene Cabading, of Las Vegas, Nev.; Ann Gagne, of Watsonville; Mickey Ballard, of Oregon; Cindy Luke, of Lucerne Valley; and Raymond Horn, of Wisconsin; as well as many cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. Friends are invited to attend a service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Donations are preferred to the San Benito High School Athletic Department in memory of Joshua Bubba Horn to cover the mortuary chapel.
