Karen passed away Friday, August 12, 2011, suddenly.
She is the daughter of Gary and Connie Sanchez and sister of Catherine Sanchez of Gilroy and of Theresa Cornell of San Jose. She is the aunt of Christofer Aaron Cornell and is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Karen graduated from Gilroy High School (1999) and then attended UC Santa Barbara.
Karen had varied interests including being a member and teacher for Watsonville Taiko Group. She also volunteered in Gilroy’s Garlic Festival for 15 years and most recently was chairperson for the Arts and Crafts area from 2006 – 2009. She was currently working for Yankee Candle and had recently moved to Sacramento to open and manage a new store in June 2011.
A memorial service and remembrance of her life will be held on Sunday August 28, 2011, at Clos LaChance Winery, at the outdoor terrace, 1 Hummingbird Lane, San Martin. Service will start at 6:30 P.M. with dinner being served immediately after.
