We have a tradition in our family to not wait for funerals to honor those we love but to share what that person means to us while they’re alive. Our cat is a huge part of our family and though not human it is her birthday month and I thought … what better time to reflect, remember and honor our cat, Kittone. She will be 15 years old this month.
We are not an animal family, but our daughter desperately wanted a kitten for Christmas. We wanted to believe she could settle for a guinea pig, but knew it would not suffice, her heart was set.
She wanted a black and white kitten and so we went on a hunt to find just that. When Kittone showed up on Christmas morning it was a happy day! She fit into our family so perfectly.
We thought Kittone was a gift for our daughter, Amy, but she really has ended up being a gift to our whole family.
She has helped us in times of transition, she is well behaved and is a wonderful companion. We all agree that when any of us are struggling it is like she knows and comes to sit right there with us. She loves to sit on laps and to be petted. She comes when called and when you say no Toni, well she responds. It is like she knows what you’re saying.
We love her so much! And she lets us know she loves us. At night, if we shut the door, look out … All of a sudden we will hear the sound of hoofs running down the hall and then her whole 20-plus pound body is thrown at our door. Why? Just because she wants to be with us.
Toni you are precious to us! Thanks for being a part of our lives!
