Goldsmith Seeds Inc. secures Girls Majors Championship

GILROY – Goldsmith Seeds Inc. defeated B & T Farms 10-4 on June 7 to capture the Gilroy Little League Girls Major Division at the Ranch Field.

The big bats for Goldsmith Seeds were Marissa Gamboa, Sarah Lira and Wendy Celestino, each provided multiple hits to lead the way for the GS victory.

Sarah Sendejas pitched a complete game, striking out eight batters. Elissa Torres and Stephanie Rodriquez provided the game’s only double play. Rodriquez’s glove was all over the place as she was a part of six defensive outs.

Alissa Castro and Brenna O’niel for B & T Farms provided clutch hitting to help provide the runs for B & T Farms. Castro and Samantha Parraz pitched for B & T.

GS won the regular season with a perfect record of 15-0.

The Gilroy Girls 12U Majors all-stars’ first game will be July 17 at 10 a.m. at Ortega Park in Sunnyvale. Aurelio Sendejas, coach Robert Lira and coach Dennis Castro manage the All-star team.

Elaskary’s 7 RBI effort leads Minors All-Stars over San Juan

SCOTTS VALLEY – Nader Elaskary’s seven-RBI performance led the Gilroy Little League Minors Boys All-Star team to a 17-7 victory over San Juan in Scotts Valley.

Elarsky finished a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, ending the game by mercy rule with his fifth-inning RBI.
