Morgan Hill resident Gay Rodrigues taught 25 years in public schools and is now an author with the release of her self-published “Here Comes the Sun: A Recovery Workbook” and “How Did the Phoenix Rise from the Ashes: A Recovery Story.”
Rodrigues, who has 24 years sobriety, will hold a book-launching luncheon April 11 to introduce herself and her books to the South Valley. After five years of preparation, she completed the substance abuse workbook, which is a personal guide through 12-step literature and features a relapse prevention component. The cost of each book is $20 and includes a Mexican luncheon, dessert, signed books, 50/50 raffle, silent auction and presentation.
