Tech upgrade for City Council chambers

Gilroy – City Council has approved $60,557 to replace the camera system and associated sound equipment in its chambers at City Hall. The no-bid project was granted to Ceitronics, the San Jose company that installed the city’s current system 15 years ago.

A second company failed to respond with a price quote, according to officials. The upgrade has become necessary due to the age of the equipment, which officials say is no longer serviceable.
