Man dies after jumping from a moving vehicle
San Juan Bautista – A 24-year-old Sunnyvale resident was killed at the Highway 129 on-ramp near San Juan Bautista Sunday after he jumped from a vehicle moving at approximately 50 mph and suffered massive head trauma, according to police.
Jason Segura was arguing with his girlfriend, San Jose resident Natalie Turrey, 26, just before he decided to jump out of the car around 6:25pm and struck his head on the pavement, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Chris Armstrong.
Segura was flown to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center where he died from his injuries, Armstrong said.
Turrey was found to be intoxicated when police arrived and was arrested for drunk driving, Armstrong said. Turrey told police that Segura was possibly intoxicated as well, but Armstrong said police had not determined yet if that was the case.
An investigation of the incident is ongoing.
