Gilroy – Tickets for Bach to Blues 2006, Friday Feb. 24, can still be purchased at Porcella’s Music in downtown Gilroy, at the Gavilan College Bookstore on the Gavilan College main campus or by phone at 846-4973. A limited number of tickets will be available at the box office on the night of the performance. Tickets are $30 for V.I.P. seats, $15 for general admission, and $10 for seniors/students.

Billed as “an extraordinary musical experience,” Bach to Blues is a benefit concert that raises money for music education at Gavilan College through a showcase of the talents of faculty and former and current students.

School environmental advisors meeting
Gilroy – The next meeting of the Gilroy Unified School District Citizen’s Environmental Oversight Committee is Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 5pm at the district office on Arroyo Circle.
The two primary topics will be the new Christopher High School solar plans and to plan in detail the first-anniversary multi media presentation to school board trustees, Superintendent Edwin Diaz and the community. Budget chair and state legislator Assemblyman John Laird will be the keynote speaker.
The planned Christopher Array will be data linked for learning purposes to every GUSD school via the Internet, and is planned to save the district significant monetary sums monthly for electric power which will be generated for free on Day Road via solar power. Savings are intended to come from reduced PG&E costs.
All are invited to join the committee Tuesday and again on March 10.
