A memorial service for Lois will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 2:00 P.M., at the First Presbyterian Church of Hollister, 2066 San Benito St., Hollister, CA 95023. Memorial gifts can be made to CASA of San Benito County, 829 San Benito St., Suite 200, Hollister, CA. 95023. CASA is an abbreviation for Court Appointed Special Advocates, an organization which is devoted to helping foster children. This non-profit was both dear to Lois’ heart and to which she was deeply committed.
Lois passed away unexpectedly September 27, 2015, due to a cerebral hemorrhage.
A wonderful wife, mother and friend, she leaves behind Bob, her husband of 59 years, their four children: Julie (and Ethan) Dupris, Gael Golobic Hall, Cindy (and Rick) Cooper and Russ (and Cathy) Golobic; three grandchildren, Jessie Rae Cooper, Peter Dupris, and Melissa (and Brett) Wilson, and two great-grandchildren, Cora and Jett Wilson.
Her immediate and larger family was the joy of Lois’ life. She also leaves behind many dear friends, both new and life-long, but particularly younger women to whom she was a caring mentor.
Born in Sacramento to Henry and Kathryn McKenna, she also leaves behind her sister, Carol (and Don) Leo and brother, Ken (and Robin) McKenna, and many nieces, nephews and cousins in the Bay Area and Southern California.
Prior to moving to Hollister in 1997, Lois and Bob spent many years living in Los Gatos, and the Las Cumbres community of the Santa Cruz mountains. She was always active in her church, loved to play the piano, sew, arrange flowers, play games and decorate anything that needed an uplift.
While her family deeply feels her loss, we know she is happy in the presence of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and for that we are most thankful.
