Police arrested a Gilroy man for raping a woman multiple times over the course of several years.
A 33-year-old woman reported Adalberto Romero, 56, of the 6700 block of Rosanna Street, to police in June, said Sgt. Wes Stanford. After detectives secured a warrant, they located Romero and arrested him 7:46 p.m. Saturday near Church and Pierce streets on suspicion of forcible rape and sexual penetration with a foreign or unknown object, according to police.
The charges involve only the one victim who was known to Romero, Stanford said. He would not describe the relationship between the victim and Romero. The sexual acts occurred over the course of several years and took place in Gilroy, he said.
