At about 9 p.m. Halloween night, a lone suspect wearing a black ski mask entered a gas station at 601 First St. The alleged thief was holding a black bag that appeared to have a heavy item and presented a note to an employee demanding money, according to a Gilroy Police Department press release.
The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities say. Multiple officers arrived to the vicinity of the reported crime scene within minutes and conducted a search, but were unable to locate the suspect, according to GPD Sgt. Pedro Esinoza.
No injuries were reported during the robbery.
The suspect, whose race witnesses were not able to describe, is approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighs 250 pounds and was wearing black clothing at the time of the robbery, the GPD states.
