Jose man was beaten unconscious after a verbal altercation in
Morgan Hill escalated into a fight involving several subjects,
police said.
A 27-year-old Morgan Hill man was stabbed and an 35-year-old San Jose man was beaten unconscious after a verbal altercation in Morgan Hill escalated into a fight involving several subjects, police said.

The incident occurred about 2 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Second Street and Monterey Road. When police arrived, they found the 27-year-old with a large stab wound to the left side of his neck. Nearby, they located the San Jose man unconscious, suffering from blunt trauma to his face. The stabbing victim was immediately transported to San Jose Regional Hospital for life threatening injuries. His condition was unavailable Monday. The second victim was transported to Saint Louise Hospital where he was treated and later released.

Other involved parties fled the area on foot toward the rear parking lot of Just Breakfast prior to police arrival. The incident is under investigation. It is unknown at this time if this incident was gang related, police said.
