Margaret Anna Sigler (Margo Soares)

Margaret Anna Sigler, 64, died in her Renton, WA home October 23, 2011.

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Margo was born June 25, 1947 to John and Madge Soares.

She was the eldest sister to four siblings: John Scott, Matt, Gina and Todd and grew up in the small town of Morgan Hill, CA.

Always a leader who made friends everywhere she went, Margo was a high school cheerleader, homecoming princess and class secretary at Live Oak High School where she graduated in 1965. Margo loved to travel, beginning with her high school junior year in Concepcion, Chile where she stayed with the Garreton family. While there, she learned to knit, which became another lifelong passion.

She began college at the University of California at Santa Barbara, majoring in Spanish, but transferred to San Jose State University after her marriage to Loren Knutson, with whom she had her two wonderful sons: Michael Anthony (Mak) and Luke Christian. The family lived in Port Townsend, Washington, where Margo began her career in the paper manufacturing industry.

A move to Eureka, CA came with an opportunity as Assistant Human Resources Manager, as well as a second marriage to Ron Wine, through whom she met some of her closest friends, her Al-Anon support group.

Margo returned to Washington in 1988 to become Assistant Human Resources Manager at Simpson Tacoma Kraft, and was actively involved in the Community Healthcare of Tacoma. Margo married the love of her life, Daniel Sigler, in 2000. Through Dan she gained two lovely step-daughters: Angie and Emily.

In addition to a love of travel, Margo enjoyed reading, gardening, crosswords, music, movies and live theater, especially Village Theatre in Issaquah. Margo expressed her creativity through her knitting, crafts, and to the delight of family and friends, her cooking.

Full of energy and enthusiasm for meeting people, going new places and trying new activities, Margo had an indomitable spirit. Her family and friends will remember her flashing smile, bright green eyes, generous nature and true zest for life. We could always count on Margo for a helping hand, a great idea, and a pat on the back.

Margo is survived by her husband, Dan Sigler of Renton; sons Mak and Luke Knutson (Nowelle), step-daughters Angie Ovsak (Gary) and Emily Sigler; parents John and Madge Soares, sister Gina Jones (Bill), brother Todd, grandchildren Aria and Blue Knutson, Katelin and Austin Ovsak, and nieces Megan and Liz Jones. She joins her brothers John Scott and Matthew.
