Police are investigating allegations of child abuse against a teacher at a Morgan Hill Unified school.

Few details of the investigation have been released.

Morgan Hill Police Sgt. Jerry Neumayer declined to release the name of the teacher, the school at which he or she is employed, or any details about the alleged abuse.

He confirmed the incident under investigation happened on the campus where the teacher is employed, and where the student victim attends.

Police cannot release more information because the teacher has not been cited or arrested, Neumayer explained.

“There is no reason to believe that any children are at risk at this time,” he said.

The case will be forwarded to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office by next week for review at which point a decision will be made whether or not to charge the teacher, Neumayer said.

A phone call to the Morgan Hill Unified School District was not returned by press time.
