A San Jose woman was flown to the hospital with serious injuries to her head, back, and hip after crashing her car on U.S. 101 near San Martin Monday, police said.
Jessica Lemos, 20, was driving her 1993 Cadillac northbound when she lost control and the vehicle struck a guardrail, according to a report from the California Highway Patrol. The car overturned and slid on its roof before coming to rest in one of the northbound lanes.
The CHP report says Lemos was traveling at “a high rate of speed.”
No other vehicles were involved in the accident, which happened north of the Masten Avenue exit about 12:10 p.m.
Lemos was flown to Regional Medical Center of San Jose with suspected major head, back, and hip injuries, the CHP report states.
