Salinas – Salinas remained once-beaten in the Tri-County Athletic League Monday by defeating Gilroy 25-15, 25-22, 25-13.

“They dominated in the middle,” Mustangs’ coach Sue grogan said. “We couldn’t get in sync with their middles.”

GHS did give the Cowboys (10-1 in TCAL) all they could handle in the second game, though, as Vanessa Wilkins and Kayla Meazell led the charge.

“It was incredible the way they were digging,” Grogan said.

Kayla Meazell had 10 kills and 14 digs for GHS (15-15 overall, 5-6 TCAL). Vanessa Wilkins had five blocks and 17 digs, Katelin Faria had five kills and one block, and Jennifer Smith had 19 assists.
