Lady Sparks 34, Los Gatos 17

Division II Girls

Gilroy/Morgan Hill All-Stars 26, Coyote Creek 8

With Sunday’s win over Coyote Creek, the team brought home its second victory of the season. The game went back and forth in the first quarter with the All-Stars (2-1) taking a 2-point lead going into the second quarter.

During the second quarter, the All-Stars pulled away by tightening up their defense and allowing just two points, ending the quarter with a 14-8 lead. The All-Stars continued their impressive defense by not allowing the Coyote team to score for the remainder of the game.

Leading the All-Stars was Hanna Tabron with nine points. Ebony Stevens and Tiyana Rogers each chipped in with six points each.

All-Stars Coach Ron Tabron expressed pleasure with his young team’s improvement going into their third game of the season.

“They played like a well-oiled machine today,” said Tabron. “They all moved the ball around a lot and just overwhelmed the other team defensively.”
