Adrienne Akinsete is the new vice of instructional services
Gilroy – Adrienne Akinsete, Gavilan College’s newest administrative addition, will receive an official welcome from college staffers today.

Akinsete, who has already began her tenure as the college’s vice president of instructional services, most recently served as dean of social science, humanities art and physical education at Evergreen Valley College in San Jose. She previously served as dean of technology and learning resources, also at Evergreen.

As vice president of instructional services – a position previously covered by Jane Harmon – Akinsete will supervise the dean of liberal arts and sciences, technology and public services.

The post was held by Martin Johnson, who retired in 2005. Harmon took over last year but was responsible for both instructional and student services.

Akinsete earned a bachelor’s in business administration and a master’s in cybernetic systems, both from San Jose State University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate through Capella University.
