Crime briefs: possesion of meth
This past week, Gilroy Police responded to several cases of methanphetamines, both influence and possesion, home burglaries, and someone trying to shoplift coats. Here are a few noteworthy incidents.
Norma Kay Ota January 19, 1924 – March 30, 2012
On March 30,2012, Norma passed away peacefully at her home. Norma is one of nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sisters, Susie, Dorothy, Helen, Nancy and brother Frank. Antie to many nieces and newphews, Ricky and Rhene Cruz and the entire Cruz family and Jerry and Gina Stanley.
Man suffers minor injuries in stabbing
A man in his 50s suffered a superficial stab wound when an unknown suspect cut him with a knife north of Morgan Hill Sunday afternoon, police said.Â

Frank A. Messina August 21, 1929 – March 30, 2012
Frank A. Messina passed away at his Hollister home at the age of 82. He was born in San Jose and lived in Hollister since 1971. He served in the US Army and was a member of Sacred Heart/St. Benedict’s Church. He worked as a plumber and farmer, forklift driver, worked for Denice and Felice and worked until he was 80 years old.
Online vigil encouraged for Sierra LaMar
The KlaasKids Foundation is asking users of social media Internet sites to participate in a 24-hour online vigil for Sierra LaMar, the Sobrato High School sophomore who has been missing from her north Morgan Hill home for 17 days.Â
Sprina M. Bozzo May 1, 1914 – March 30, 2012
In loving memory of our beloved Auntie Sprina Bozzo, who passed away at the Mabie Skilled Nursing Facility, one month before her 98th birthday. She was a lifelong resident of Hollister and a member of many organizations over the years, such as Young Lady’s Institute for 50 years, Italian Catholic Federation, Branch #26, the Sacred Heart Parish Choir for 50 years, and various Pedro clubs.
