Ronald L. "Ronnie" Griffin passed away in Hollister on Dec. 18th at the age of 65 years. Ronnie spent his formative years in Salinas, was a graduate of Salinas High School and upon graduation went to work in the construction trades for many years. In 1979, he entered the carpet business in Atascadero and spent a great part of his life in the floor covering business; not only in Atascadero, but in Salinas with his brother at Old Town Carpets, as well as in Gilroy. He moved from Gilroy in 1987 to establish Ron's Windows, Walls & Floors in Hollister. Ron was an avid softball player in the competitive fast pitch leagues for 20 plus years, as well a baseball and football coach during his sons younger years. He loved the out-of-doors hunting ducks and pheasants with his favorite Labrador Retrievers as well as deer and wild boar hunting. "He was devoted to his family, a big family guy", said his children, who enjoyed traveling in his motor home and camping throughout California. Ron was a member of the Laborers Union Local No. 297 of Salinas.
