Norman E. Hawkins
Norman E. Hawkins, beloved husband, father and brother, peacefully passed away at his home on May 27, 2007, at the age of 84. He was born September 29, 1922 in Madera, Pennsylvania and resided in Morgan Hill for 20 years. He grew up in Pennsylvania and served 3-1/2 years in the Air Force during WWII. He married his childhood sweetheart, Irene Johnson and they had 4 children before moving to Venice, CA in 1956, where he worked in the electronics industry until his retirement in 1985. He and his wife moved to Morgan Hill in 1985 to be closer to family, where he spent his time enjoying his family, grandchildren, woodworking, reading and taking walks around the neighborhood. He was a member for 20 years at Morgan Hill Bible Church. He was 1 of 11 children and was preceded in death by his parents, Edith Wertz Hawkins and Edward Hawkins and 5 of his brothers and 1 of his sisters, as well as his two daughters, Becky and Susan Hawkins. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Irene L. Hawkins of Morgan Hill, CA. Also, his sons Norm (Bud) Hawkins of Citrus Heights and David Hawkins of Morgan Hill; his brothers Ed Hawkins of Wilmington, NC, Herb Hawkins and Jerry Hawkins of Glen Hope, PA and his sister Peggy McKeehan of Carlisle, PA. He has 9 grandchildren, Carol Kuzma, Kimberly Guardiola, Brittany & Mark Hawkins of Northern CA; Sarah, Deborah, Danielle, April & Allison Bush of Southern California as well as 5 great-grandchildren, Luke Guardiola, Hayley Dorman, Isaac Kuzma of No. Calif.; Rachel Ayala, Bianca Bush-Vargas of So. Calif, and another great-grandchild on the way.

Passed away in a car accident Sunday, May 27, 2007. Mother of Surenity Neuhritt Duran of Gilroy. Daughter of Maria N. Macias of Gilroy and the late Osvaldo J. Lopez. Sister of Yvette Gopar, Marybell Regalado, Kathy Lopez, Rosemary Lopez and the late Angelica Mondragon (1998). Aunt of Israel, Alejandro, Aniya, Aliyah, Anthony and David. Also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins. Born in Gilroy.
