Audition now for Gilroy Children’s Musical Theater

The Gilroy Children's Musical Theater seeks local youth ages 5 to 25 to audition for “Pop Legends Live!” written and directed by local director phenom John Bisceglie. Auditions take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Gilroy Center for the Arts, located at 7341 Monterey St. The variety show will be in the vein of hit TV singing shows such as “Glee,” “The Voice” and “American Idol”.

Graduated from Southside School, Gavilan College with an AS degree in Transfer Studies, University of Santa Cruz, BS in Physics and was a graduate student in Engineering at San Jose State University. Survived by his parents John and Kaye Bedell, brothers Matthew and Jeffrey, grandfather O.J. Bedell, Sr., aunt Martha Bedell Crum and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Hollister and on the east coast. He was predeceased by his grandmothers Grace Graham Bedell and June Reed Frits. Private services will be held. Memorials preferred to Southside Elementary School Foundation, c/o Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home, 870 San Benito Street, Hollister, CA 95023. The Bedell family wishes to thank the entire Hollister community and beyond for the support and kindness they have shown.

Hollister bishop admits to foreclosure fraud

A San Juan Bautista man and Hollister church bishop has pleaded guilty to felony foreclosure fraud in connection with his work as a foreclosure consultant in 2005 and 2006 and the cases of three families who lost their homes, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.
