Prep Roundup: April 9

Gilroy softball went 1-1 at the Mission City Tournament Saturday at Mission College. 

Prep Baseball: Live Oak quells Gilroy’s rally as Austin walks off in eighth for 4-3 win

Live Oak was content to trade outs to move Kyle Riveron to third to score the game-winning run in the eighth inning against Gilroy.

Student of the Week: Shelby McClelland, 12th grade, GECA

What inspires you? Recently, I’ve found myself inspired by the wide range of social services available in Santa Clara. Last week I attended Community Solutions’ “Love is Respect” conference and I was completely blown away by the passion and giving nature of all of the volunteers who showed up to help. It’s part of what makes me so excited to work in a social services agency as part of my own career path.

Gilroy man killed in Easter Sunday hit and run

MORGAN HILL—A pedestrian struck and killed on Easter Sunday by an impaired motorist who fled the scene of the accident in south Morgan Hill has been identified as 37-year-old Alberto Sanchez, of Gilroy, according to the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office.

Police investigate fatal wreck near Outlets

GILROY—Police are investigating a collision near the Outlets that claimed the life of a 19-year-old Gilroy man last week.

The Saints made a push late in Saturday's game against Christopher, but Cougars' pitcher Darren Santos held them off. 

Gavilan Roundup: April 6

The Gavilan baseball team hasn't lost more than two games in a row all season and it wasn't about to change now.
