Basketball: Gilroy All-Stars host Beijing Ducks

Festival of the Arts continues this weekend
Queensryche with Geoff Tate played their farewell concert Aug. 9 at the Morgan Hill Downtown Amphitheater to a nearly sold out crowd (about 2,500). The show was part of Morgan Hill nonprofit ARTTEC’s Festival of the Arts, a series of concerts throughout August celebrating the organization’s 10th anniversary. This Saturday, Aug. 16, ARTTEC will present the “Music for Heroes” benefit concert at the same venue, 17000 Monterey Road. The concert will feature Kiefer Sutherland with his band ZZ Lightfoot, Tommy Tutone, Polo Jones & Lighthouse for the Blind and Davey Pattison’s Gamma+. Retired Hollister officer dies from injuries in January wreck
Andy Burgess, the former Hollister police officer from Gilroy injured in a January traffic accident, has died, according to the Hollister Police Department. He was 59 years old.
