The killing case of Morgan Hill teen Tara Romero spins a harrowing account of two opposing worlds colliding in terror when a group of young high school classmates celebrating a 15th birthday coincidentally crossed paths at the end of the night with five young men intent on settling a score with a rival street gang.
Library hours mulled over
The Gilroy Library is open less than any other branch in the Santa Clara County Library District, and while there's currently no funding to increase hours, district officials say they are open to brainstorming ideas with the City of Gilroy on how to increase the building's availability to the public.
$1.75M to guide General Plan update
City Council voted unanimously Monday night to authorize an almost $1.75 million contract to hire two consulting firms that will work in tandem to guide a 25-person citizen committee in updating Gilroy’s 20-year General Plan.

Santa Clara County residents are being urged to throw out any Townsend Farms Organic Antioxidant Blend of frozen berries they have at home after a multi-state outbreak of Hepatitis A. The product was sold at Costco stores until it was taken off store shelves.
Morgan Hill Unified asks to postpone charter vote
