Along with guidance from a County fiscal advisor, the Gilroy Unified School District passed a list of $2 million in budget cuts for next school year, including the elimination of all library clerks.
Half a century teaching, still going strong
Patti Littlejohn, who just celebrated her 50th anniversary teaching, sees no reason to retire. After 39 years at El Roble Elementary School in Gilroy teaching 3rd grade and kindergarten, she retired from public school teaching and came to St. Mary School in 2006 to teach the 4- and 5-year-old kindergarten programs.
Interim Gavilan president gets $20,000 for one month
The Gavilan College Board of Trustees Tuesday appointed Dr. Victor Krimsley to serve as interim president of the school for a month while President Steve Kinsella is out on medical leave.
