If Senate Bill 850 passes through the state legislature, then a select few Gavilan College students may be able to acquire a bachelor’s degree from the community college in the future, according to Chancellor Steve Kinsella.

For the last decade, the Gilroy Unified School District has been installing fences to keep children safe from intruders – a project that was ramped up after the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting in December 2012. But the fact GUSD is keeping many of its playgrounds closed after hours has recently caught the attention of City Council.
