Gilroy Foundation distributes close to $350K in scholarship money to local grads
The Gilroy Foundation, a local philanthropic nonprofit organization, gave out $343,450 in scholarships this year to 53 Gilroy and Morgan Hill graduates. The money came from 19 sources including garlic entrepreneuer Don Christopher, owner of Christopher Ranch; his wife, Karen; and sons Bill and Ken Christopher.

Selecting students for the Gilroy Dispatch's annual senior spotlight honor is no enviable task. That's why we make the principals do it (and they resent us for making them narrow it down to one!) These students have navigated the labyrinth of high school hurdles and we are inspired by their optimistic outlook, refreshing attitudes and heartfelt honesty. Charter school pulls petition
After a recent skirmish with the Morgan Hill Unified School District, Navigator Schools is pulling their charter application but vowing to resubmit a more complete version next month.
