Gilroy police arrests
Driving on the sidewalk
John Raymond Fregoso, 26, of the 7100 block of Hanna Street, 3:47am Friday, at his residence on outstanding warrants for driving an improperly equipped motorcycle on a highway, driving a motor vehicle on a sidewalk and failure to appear in court.
Possession of a sawed-off shotgun
Angel Soloman Espinoza, 21, transient, 11:15am Thursday, near the intersection of Church and Pierce streets for possession of a sawed-off shotgun, being a parolee with a weapon and an outstanding warrant for a parole violation.
Possession of a controlled substance
Danielle Renee Rios, 24, of the 8500 block of Church Street, 11:15am Thursday, at his residence on an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
Thomas Eddie Vasquez, 38, of Los Banos, 11:15am Thursday, at 8587 Church St., on an outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Battery
Rene Samuel Sanchez, 38, of the 9300 block of Lariat Drive, 2:35pm Thursday, at the Gilroy Police Department, 7301 Hanna St., on an outstanding warrant for battery.

ID theft
About $130 was charged to a credit card between Oct. 2 and 5 at a store at 7895 Monterey St.
Grand theft
Heavy machinery worth more than $9,000 was stolen from a construction site near the intersection of Camino Arroyo and Pacheco Pass Highway between Wednesday and Thursday.
Burglary
Furniture worth more than $7,000 was stolen out of a garage between July 21 and Thursday. The owner moved out of the house, left the furniture in a garage and discovered it was missing Thursday.
Battery
A suspect walked into a store on the 7000 block of Camino Arroyo, punched a victim, causing facial injuries, and left. Police believed the suspect punched the man because of issues they were having regarding a woman.
