A 51-year-old Oakland man died of his injuries after he was struck by a vehicle Dec. 8 at approximately 7 p.m. near the intersection of Monterey Road and Buena Vista Avenue, according to a press release from the Gilroy Police Department.
Despite efforts of emergency medical personnel, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of family members.
According to GPD, the man appears to have been struck in the northbound lanes of Monterey Road. The male driver of the vehicle was also on scene and GPD says he did not appear to be driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The accident remains under investigation.
