Dear Editor:

In the Aug. 29, edition of the Gilroy Dispatch on page D2 in the Community Section, there was a vintage photo of a young boy on a tractor. The title of the photo was “South Valley is an orchard of history.” There was no information about the boy, etc.

This young boy was my Uncle Al Gagliardi when he was 11 years old riding on the family John Deere tractor. The prune orchard was located on the corner of Farrell Avenue and Monterey Highway.
