Pedro E. “Lico” Lerma died Saturday, April 3, 2004, in a Watsonville convalescent hospital after a long illness.

A native and life-long resident of Watsonville, he was 47.

Mr. Lerma attended Watsonville High School and was a former employee of Bud Antle, Inc. He was a certified heavy equipment operator and a member of Teamsters Union Local 912. He enjoyed listening to “oldies” music and was a die-hard 49er fan. He also enjoyed playing basketball.

He is survived by his fiancee, Shawna Blankenship of San Jose; his parents, John and Fannie Lerma of Hollister; sister and brother-in-law, Lorina and Ernest Lara of Gilroy; sister-in-law, Kathie Lerma of Salinas; nephews, Johnny and Eric Lerma, Bobby and Ernie Lara, Jr.; nieces Trinidad Fleck and Reina Lara; several grandnieces and nephews; and many relatives in the Mireles family of Watsonville.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2004 at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel, 222 East Lake Ave., Watsonville.

Friends are welcome at the chapel until 8 p.m.

Interment will be private.

Andrew S. Gonzales died Jan. 15, 2004, at his home in Shady Cove, Ore.

He spent the last nine years of his life in Shady Cove but was a resident of Gilroy for many years.

Cremation has been conducted. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, April 15, 2004, at St. Mary Cemetery.

The family invites friends and family to a remembrance at St. Mary’s Cottage for refreshments immediately following the services.
