The Gilroy Public Art Committee announced the raffle winner of the colorful wooden children’s playhouse July 18.Â
The playhouse, which has been used to incite the collection of raffle tickets since early March at local events such as opening day at Gilroy Gardens, went to Francis and Jeannine Sacco, according to Joan Buchanan of the Public Art Committee.Â
The $1,856 raised by the playhouse will go to purchasing children’s art for the new Gilroy Library, Buchanan said.Â
The miniature yellow house with red trim and a turquoise door was handbuilt and donated to the Public Art Committee by Habitat for Humanity.Â
Buchanan said the Saccos plan to give the solid-wood cheery house, which is reminiscent of the toys of yore, to their two granddaughters.Â
