Possession of a controlled substance
Tara Aguilar, 30, of the 800 block of Ryan Court, 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, at 691 First St. for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
Joshua Lopez, 20, of the 7600 block of Carmel Street, 2:33 a.m. Wednesday, at Motel 6, 6110 Monterey Road, for possession of methamphetamine and on an outstanding warrant for possession of methamphetamine.
Driving without a license
Mara Ann Dominguez, 32, of the 8500 block of Church Street, 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, at 691 First St. for driving without a license and driving too slow on a highway and on an outstanding warrant for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Salvador Ortiz Barajas, 25, of Morgan Hill, 8:27 p.m. Friday, near the intersection of Church Street and Welburn Avenue on outstanding warrants for driving without a license, driving without insurance, driving without registration and making a reckless left or U-turn.
Possession of a syringe
Salvador Del Rio, 51, transient, 1:13 p.m. Monday, near the intersection of Eighth and Rosanna streets for possession of a syringe and biking the wrong way on a street.
Delaying a police officer
Sandy Stanford, 61, of the 7700 block of Eigleberry Street, 10:37 a.m. Monday, at 7750 Eigleberry St. for resisting or delaying a police officer.
Petty theft
Ray Daniel Hiata, 37, of Novato, 4:10 p.m. Monday, at Wal-Mart, 7150 Camino Arroyo, for petty theft with prior convictions.
Javier Campuzano, 67, of the 8000 block of Church Street, 5:51 p.m. Tuesday, at Rite Aid, 360 E. 10th St., for petty theft.
Assault with a deadly weapon
Bernardo Acebo Lopez, 21, of the 7100 block of Church Street, 3:09 p.m. Monday, at his residence for assault with a deadly weapon and on outstanding warrants for two counts each of being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and sex with a minor.
Probation violation
A 16-year-old Hispanic female and a 14-year-old Hispanic male were arrested, 11:54 p.m. Saturday, at 8440 Murray Ave. for probation violation and curfew violations.
Possession of marijuana
Mark Paul Oliveira, 30, no address given, 3:12 p.m. Sunday, at Christmas Hill Park, 7050 Miller Ave.
Assault with a deadly weapon
Ibrahim Malik, 19, of the 7100 block of Rosanna Street, 1:42 p.m. Friday, near the intersection of Old Gilroy and Monterey streets, for assault with a deadly weapon and on outstanding warrants for driving without a license and failure to signal before a turn or lane change. Malik was arrested for participating in a fight outside 7250 Monterey St., 1:15 p.m. Friday.
Under influence of a controlled substance
Rudy Tellez, 41, transient, 12:35 a.m. Monday, near the intersection of Seventh and Hanna streets for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Martha Alicia Cruz, 24, of the 800 block of Monticelli Drive, 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, at the Gilroy Police Department, 7301 Hanna St., on outstanding warrants for driving under the influence and driving without a license.
Brentan Mehiko Whitfield, 20, of San Jose, 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, at Motel 6, 6110 Monterey Road, for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Socorro Eloisa Delreal, 42, no address given, 11:21 p.m. Tuesday, at Jack in the Box, 7110 Camino Arroyo, for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Grand theft
Hildebrando Rojas Vargas, 23, of the 7500 block of Chestnut Street, 10:12 p.m. Monday, at 7801 Carmel St. on outstanding warrants for grand theft, failure to register as a sex offender and public intoxication.
Public intoxication
Nicandro Canseco, 53, transient in Morgan Hill, 8:56 p.m. Tuesday, outside the Foothills Foursquare Church, 8335 Church St.
OTHER GPD INCIDENTS
Grand theft
Two tires and rims valued at $1,300 were removed from the passenger side of a 2004 Mercedes Compressor in a carport at 9050 Kern Ave., between 7:30 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 a.m. Monday. In the morning, the victim found the car still standing on the jack.
A Hispanic male adult grabbed three pairs of sunglasses from Sunglass Hut, 681 Leavesley Road, and left without paying, 6 p.m. Tuesday.
n Copper wire valued at $1,500 was stolen from a building being constructed at 7652 Hanna St., between 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Wheels were stolen from within a gated area of Charity Auto Auction, 8155 Swanston Lane, between 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Commercial burglary
Cash from the cash register was stolen from Tenampa, 7990 Monterey St., between 3 and 8 a.m. Sunday. The suspect or suspects climbed onto the roof of the building and entered through the air conditioning duct
Assault with a deadly weapon
A man was struck in the head with a metal pipe by a Hispanic male, estimated between the ages of 38 and 42, at Las Animas Park, 350 Mantelli Drive, about 10 p.m. Friday. The suspect approached the victim, demanded money, hit the victim and rode away on a small bike.
A Hispanic female was punched, kicked and hit with a shoe by three to four Hispanic females outside the Oakwood Lounge, 7421 Monterey St., 1:41 a.m. Sunday. The victim suffered abrasions to her body and a large contusion to her forehead.
Petty theft
A purse containing credit cards was taken from an unlocked 1992 Acura Integra parked at Ross, 7615 Camino Arroyo, 8:51 p.m. Friday.
A backpack with school books valued at $220 was stolen from an unlocked 1989 Chevrolet Astro van parked at 7435 Monterey St., between 2 and 2:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Residential burglary
A laptop valued at $1,500 was taken from an unlocked house on the 9300 block of Church Street, between 7:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday.
Several pieces of jewelry and collectable U.S. dollars of unknown value were stolen from a residence on the 7600 block of Rosanna Street, between 7:50 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday. The suspect or suspects removed a screen from a bathroom window to gain entry.
Stolen motorcycle
n A green 2005 Kawasaki ZXR1000 was stolen from outside a residence on the 900 block of Spencer Court, between 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
