Gilroy police arrests

Petty theft

Angel Hernandez, 19, of the 11400 block of New Avenue, 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, near the intersection of IOOF Avenue and Forest Street on a warrant.

Public intoxication

Angela Russell, 39, of San Jose, 9:23 p.m. Wednesday, at 985 Monte Bello Drive on a warrant for two counts.

Hiroaki Daniel Hill Jr., 22, of the 7100 block of Church Avenue, 12:58 a.m. Wednesday, at his residence.

Driving without a license

William Logan Montoth, 54, of Morgan Hill, 4:08 p.m., at 5480 Monterey Road for driving without a license, without insurance and without registration.

Allen Joseph Tayson, 18, of the 8200 block of Murray Avenue, 10:53 p.m. Wednesday, near the intersection of East Sixth and Forest streets for vandalism in excess of $400, participation in a street gang and removing a child from a foster home or institution without authorization.

Other GPD incidents

Auto burglary

The glove compartment of a vehicle parked on the 900 block of Hoxett Street was rummaged through, between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 9:15 a.m. Thursday. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle.

The ignition of a blue 1998 Chevrolet Astro van parked on the 900 block of Hoxett Street was tampered with, between 4 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle.

A bag containing three pairs of shoes and a T-shirt and a 2008 registration tag were stolen from a 1997 Ford Explorer on the 7200 block of Hanna Street, between 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Commercial burglary

Wires and metals were stolen from a vacant business at 199 E. Ninth St., 6:20 a.m. Thursday. The suspect or suspects pried the doors to get into the building.

Vandalism

Grave sites were discovered vandalized in a cemetery on First Street, about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Sheriff’s Incidents

Unattended death

A 40-year-old man was found dead in a bathroom at a residence near the intersection of Denio and Masten avenues in San Martin, 8:18 p.m. Dec. 1. There were no signs of a struggle.

Petty theft

Two license plates were stolen from a gold 1999 Ford Taurus parked on the 6000 block of Pacheco Pass Highway, between Sept. 1 and Nov. 25.

The rear license plate was stolen from a grey 1995 Pontiac Bonneville parked in a driveway on the 13000 block of Harding Avenue in San Martin, between 3 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday.

Recovered stolen vehicle

Deputies found a gray 1987 Toyota Camry near the intersection of Hale and Tilton avenues in Morgan Hill, 3:30 p.m. Nov. 29. The car, which had front-end damage from hitting a mountain, was reported stolen earlier that day at about 1 a.m.

A silver 1989 Toyota Camry was found in the driveway of a residence on the 19000 block of Caprista Court in Morgan Hill, between 3 and 4 a.m. Nov. 29.

Auto burglary

A purse containing a driver’s license, a credit card and a gas card was stolen from the console of a blue 2006 Saturn Ion parked on the 10000 block of Fourth Street, between 10:10 p.m. Nov. 28 and 7:30 a.m. Nov. 29. The suspect or suspects smashed the front passenger-side window to get into the car.

Clothing, camera equipment, stereo equipment, sporting goods and a portable mp3 player, total value of $920, was stolen from a silver 2003 Nissan Xterra parked on the 10000 block of Pacheco Pass Highway in Hollister, between 7 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Sunday. The suspect or suspects broke the rear driver-side window to get into the car.

A DVD/CD player, speaker box and CDs, total value of $3,000 were stolen from an unlocked black 2001 Ford Expedition parked in a gated driveway near the intersection of Lena and Jacobs avenues, between 7 p.m. Dec. 3 and 7 p.m. Dec. 4.
