The Gilroy Police Department responded to a variety of crimes this week, including attempted murder, burglary, abandonment of a child, possession of tear gas and unlawful sexual intercourse. The arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter Feb. 18 through 25.
Attempted murder

Burglary
-Alfred Flores, 36, Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Sixth and Church streets for felony burglary in the first-degree, two charges of selling or aiding in the sale of stolen property and willful disobedience of a court order.
Abandoning a child
-Alejandro Flores, 48, Feb. 22 at 5:44 p.m. near the intersection of San Ysidro Avenue and Leavesley Road for two charges of felony abandonment of a child, felony possession of a narcotic controlled substance, driving on a suspended license, possession of narcotics paraphernalia and representing a false ID to a police officer.
Domestic violence
-Noel Calderon, 28, Feb. 18 at 12:42 a.m. near the intersection of Sixth and Church streets for felony assault with a deadly weapon to produce grave bodily injury, felony infliction of bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant, battery against a spouse, cohabitant or friend, battery on a peace officer or emergency personnel and resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer.
-Marisol Mora, 31, Feb. 22 at 3:48 a.m. on the 600 block of E. Seventh Street for felony infliction of bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant.
-Eric Mendoza, 25, Feb. 22 at 10:30 a.m. on the 100 block of Lewis Street for battery against a spouse, cohabitant or friend and not appropriating lost property.
Possession of tear gas
-Justo Montes, 42, Feb. 21 at 2:30 p.m. on the 7200 block of Dowdy Street for a felony charge of possession of tear gas as a convicted felon and felony processing as a violator for revocation.
Driving under the influence
-Hugo Higuera, 25, Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. on the 900 block of Montebello Drive for three outstanding warrants: driving under the influence, driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher and being an unlicensed driver.
-Mauro DeJesus, 19, Feb. 21 at 12:57 a.m. near the intersection of Electra Court and Las Animas Avenue for driving under the influence, driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher and driving on a suspended license.
-Jose Barrada Sutrera, 32, Feb. 21 at 11:53 p.m. on the 6800 block of Princevalle Street for driving under the influence, hit and run and driving on a suspended license.
-David Sierra Mattos, 22, Feb. 21 at 11:56 p.m. near the intersection of Swanston Lane and Leavesley Road for driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher.
Multiple charges
-Roberto Mendoza, 29, Feb. 18 at 3:39 p.m. on the 6800 block of Church Street for three felony charges: robbery, threats to commit a crime resulting in bodily injury and infliction of bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant.
-Patrick Filice, 53, Feb. 20 at 12:35 p.m. on the 7100 block of Hanna Street for prowling, vandalism, threatening to commit a crime resulting in death, disturbance by loud and unreasonable noise, assault against a peace officer and re-arrest for probation for revocation.
-Jose Lucatero, 42, Feb. 20 at 5:55 p.m. on the 600 block of E. Eighth Street for felony possession of a narcotic controlled substance, driving under the influence, driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher, driving with expired registration, driving on a suspended license and driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
-Theresa Rodriguez, 55, Feb. 21 at 1:34 p.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for felony petty theft with priors, felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
-Sonia Salgado, 39, Feb. 21 at 2:50 p.m. on the 6700 block of Camino Arroyo for felony possession of a controlled substance for sale, felony possession of a controlled substance, petty theft and unlawful possession of paraphernalia.
-Yareli Vargas, 24, Feb. 22 at 1:34 a.m. on the 8100 block of Monterey Street for three felony charges: unlawful sexual intercourse, possession of a narcotic controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance, in addition to two three of possession of a controlled substance and battery on a former spouse, fiancé or friend.
-Adam Stotesbury, 40, Feb. 22 at 4:25 p.m. near the intersection of Monterey Street and Hornlein Court for battery, petty theft of personal property and felony processing as a violator for revocation.
-Raul Flores, 19, Feb. 24 at 1:40 p.m. near the intersection of 10th and Chestnut streets for battery on a peace officer and resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer.
