The Gilroy Police Department responded to a variety of crimes over the past week, from child endangerment to possession of a controlled substance and causing willful harm to a police animal. Arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter between July 9 and 16.
Battery
-Taura Pruitt, 29, July 15 at 4:54 p.m. near the intersection of Church and Howson streets for battery against a spouse, cohabitant or friend.
Burglary
-Jaime Alvarez, 36, July 15 at 6:54 p.m. on the 6900 block of Chestnut Street for felony first-degree burglary and possession of a switchblade.
Child endangerment
-Tanika Johnson, 38, July 11 at 11 a.m. on the 300 block of Tomkins Court on an outstanding warrant for child endangerment involving unjust pain or suffering.
Making threats to commit a crime resulting in injury or death
-Bryon Morillo, 51, July 11 at 8:30 a.m. on the 6900 block of Monterey Road for one misdemeanor charge and battery.
Multiple charges
-Queenie Edwards, 55, July 10 at 5:08 p.m. near the intersection of Leavesley Road and Murray Avenue for an outstanding felony warrant for interfering with a power line and charges of trespassing, being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance and providing a false name to a police officer.
-Christopher Harris, 33, July 11 at 1:59 a.m. on the 300 block of Mantelli Drive on three warrants for possession of a controlled substance, another warrant for use or being under the influence of a controlled substance and charges for willful or malicious harm on a police animal and resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer.
-James Duran, 48, July 13 at 2:46 p.m. on the 7300 block of Eigleberry Street for three charges of possession of a controlled substance, petty theft of personal property and two charges for resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer.

-Claudia Mendoza Barajas, 29, July 9 at 9:21 a.m. on the 6100 block of Monterey Road for one misdemeanor charge.
-Peter Flores, 33, July 10 at 1:54 p.m. on the 7400 block of Camino Arroyo for one felony charge and resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer.
-Christopher Chavez, 21, July 13 at 6 p.m. on the 7300 block of Forest Street for two misdemeanor charges and possession of marijuana.
-Anthony Gonzales, 48, July 14 at 11:25 a.m. on the 300 block of Mantelli Drive for one felony charge, possession of 28.5 grams or more of marijuana and unlawful possession of paraphernalia.

-Trinidad Rodriguez, 20, July 13 at 1:24 a.m. near the intersection of Fifth and Monterey streets for possession of 28.5 or more grams, resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer and re-arrest for a probation violation.
Driving under the influence
-Delia Cavazos, 28, July 12 at 4:09 a.m. near the intersection of Seventh and Dowdy streets for felony DUI causing bodily injury and one felony charge for willfully causing or permitting a child to suffer.
-Miguel Zabala, 32, July 12 at 4:17 a.m. near the intersection of Seventh and Dowdy streets for one misdemeanor charge.
-Juan Estrada, 45, July 12 at 5:46 p.m. near the intersection of Sixth and Orchard streets for DUI, driving while unlicensed, driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher and expired registration.
-Alejandro Sel, 29, July 15 at 6:20 p.m. at the Gilroy police station for DUI, driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher and driving while unlicensed.
-Hassan Alhadi, 28, July 16 at 11:58 a.m. on the 100 block of Ervin Court for driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher and driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
