The Gilroy Police Department recently responded to a variety of crimes, including committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child, robbery, burglary and assault with a deadly weapon. Arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter May 8 through 15. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
Sex crimes against a child
-Jose Guevara, 36, May 14 at 6:15 p.m. on the 1000 block of Montebello Drive for five felony charges of committing lewd and lascivious acts with a child.
Robbery
-Raymond Shorb, 46, May 11 at 11:29 a.m. near the intersection of Church Street and Welburn Avenue for felony robbery, resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer and use/being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Burglary
-Khalis Scott, 18, May 10 at 5:49 p.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for felony first-degree burglary.
-Gabriel Boutista, 46, May 11 at 11 a.m. near the intersection of First and Church streets for two charges of felony second-degree burglary.
-Angelina Alba Shepard, 21, May 12 at 8:52 p.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for felony first-degree burglary and an outstanding warrant for theft of personal property.
Obstructing or resisting an executive officer
-Brad Curry, 44, May 14 at 1:14 p.m. near the intersection of Church Street and Welburn Avenue.
Driving under the influence
-Nivardo Garcia, 20, May 12 at 3:17 a.m. near the intersection of Monterey Street and Ronan Avenue for DUI and driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher.
-Vicente Sosa, 46, May 14 at 12:11 a.m. near the intersection of Wren Avenue and San Miguel Street.
-Armando Chavez, 38, May 13 at 11:14 p.m. near the intersection of Wren Avenue and San Miguel Street for DUI, driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher, driving with privileges suspended or revoked and driving while unlicensed.
