Recovered stolen vehicle
A stolen vehicle was recovered at 3:09 a.m. Feb. 28 near the intersection of Monterey Road and U.S. 101 behind the Garlic Farm Inn. The vehicle was stolen out of Gilroy and was unoccupied with the driver’s side door unlocked and the ignition punched.
A vehicle stolen out of Hollister was recovered at 8 a.m. Feb. 28 near Uvas Road at Uvas Lake in Morgan Hill.
A 1991 Honda stolen out of Gilroy was recovered at 9 a.m. March 4 near the intersection of Kern and Vickery avenues.
A vehicle stolen out of San Jose was recovered at 11 p.m. March 5 near Maple and Columbet avenues in Morgan Hill. Latent prints and evidence were recovered from the vehicle
Assault and battery
A woman was assaulted between 7:30 and 8 a.m. Feb. 28 on the 400 block of Church Road in San Martin at the South County Retirement Home.
Grand theft
A vibrator plate – a piece of equipment used to compact soil – valued at $3,000 was stolen from a gated residence under construction on the 4000 block of Hecker Pass Highway, between 10 a.m. Feb. 21 and 12 p.m. Feb. 27.
Vandalism
An unknown suspect smashed a security camera and cut the camera’s wire between 12 p.m. Feb. 28 and 10 a.m. Feb 29 on the 6770 block of Croy Road.
Petty theft
An envelope containing $350 cash was stolen between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Feb. 23 from a residential mailbox near the intersection of Harding and Cox avenues in San Martin.
An iPod valued at $150 and a purse containing the victim’s driver’s license and credit card were stolen out of a vehicle between 9:45 p.m. Feb. 29 and 11 a.m. March 1 on the 1600 block of Decker Avenue.
Auto theft
A Kenwood black car stereo with a CD player and removable face valued at $250 was stolen from a vehicle on the 14400 block of Crowner Avenue in San Martin between 12 and 5 a.m. March 1. The suspect or suspects also kicked/dented the car and broke the ignition.
Criminal threats
An email threatening death and harm to the victim’s family should the victim contact police was sent to a resident of the 16000 block of Griswold Drive in Morgan Hill at 8:30 a.m. March 1.
Burglary
A trailer and storage shed on the 12000 block of Llagas Drive in San Martin were burglarized between 12 a.m. Feb. 25 and 2:30 p.m. March 1. Nine prints were lifted from the scene.
Residential burglary
A compressor valued at $350 and a generator were stolen from a residence on the 15200 block of Sycamore in Morgan Hill between 12 p.m. Jan. 2 and 9 a.m. Feb. 15.
A residence was burglarized between 9 a.m. and 3:05 p.m. March 4 on the 7500 block of San Felipe Road. No property was taken but a window was smashed with a rock.
Property valued at $2,300 was stolen from a trailer on the 7500 block of San Felipe Road at 12:30 p.m. March 4.
A mirror, fluorescent light bulbs and a water pressure gauge on the 16100 block of Griswold in Morgan Hill were smashed, causing $400 in damage, between 12 p.m. Feb. 10 and 11:25 a.m. March 5.
Identity theft
A total of $804.54 was fraudulently charged to the checking account of a resident of on the 10300 block of Santa Teresa Boulevard between 12 a.m. Feb. 13 and 11:59 p.m. Feb. 19.
Unattended death
A body, found unconscious and not breathing on the 2500 block of Church Avenue in San Martin, was pronounced dead 7:30 p.m. March 4. The body was released to the family. There was no evidence of trauma or foul play.
