Petty theft
Several pieces of mail and a black bag were stolen from an
unlocked vehicle Nov. 2007 on Olivia Court in Gilroy and were found
about 50 yards down the street in a neighbor’s yard 7 p.m. Feb. 14,
on the 11400 block of Rothe Drive in Gilroy. The mail was
moldy.

Battery

Robert Flores, 35, of the 500 block of I.O.O.F Avenue, 3:38 p.m. Friday at 798 Gray St. on warrants for disobeying a court order and battery.

Jose Rodriguez, 43, of the 700 block of Gary Street, 8:39 p.m. Sunday, at his residence on felon battery charges and possession of a controlled substance.

Marie Cabrera, 37, of the 800 block of Monticelli Drive, 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Gilroy Police Department on warrants for battery and exhibiting a deadly weapon.

Possession of a firearm by a felon

Andres Rodriguez, 28, of San Jose, 4:47 a.m. Monday, near Monterey and Second streets for attempted burglary and possession of a firearm and on warrants for DUI, petty theft and driving with a suspended license.

Displaying false vehicle registration

Paul Zabala, 44, of the 200 block of Sixth Street, 10:48 a.m. Monday at 350 Mantelli Drive for driving without due caution, driving without registration, displaying false registration and on warrants for driving without insurance and driving with a suspended license.

Hildebrando Vargas, 24, of the 7000 block of Chestnut Street, 2:10 p.m. Monday near Monterey and Fourth streets on warrants for grand theft and failure to register as a sex offender.

First-degree burglary

Jose Corona, 33, of the 200 block of Sixth Street, 10:48 a.m. Monday, near Mantelli Drive and Wren Avenue for providing a false name to a peace officer and on a warrant for first degree burglary.

Possession of alcohol in a vehicle

Ryan Church, 19, of San Jose, 12:32 a.m. Saturday, near 10th and Alexander streets, cited for possession of alcohol in a vehicle and making a U-turn in a business district.

Possession of controlled substance

Homer Garza, 38, of San Jose, 2:53 p.m. Friday at 798 Gary St, for resisting arrest and on warrants for possession of a controlled substance and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Sheriff’s incidents

Residential burglary

A Rolex watch valued at $7,000 was stolen from a residence near Llagas Road and Enderson Court in Morgan Hill 11:30 p.m. Feb. 19.

Fraud

A stolen credit card was used 12:00 a.m. Nov. 20, 2007, on the 1300 block of Half Road in Morgan Hill to make two purchases totaling $110.52. The victim does not know who made the charges.

Grand theft

A purse was stolen out of an unlocked silver Hyundai Elantra between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Feb. 14, near the intersection of Santa Teresa Boulevard and Mesa Road in Gilroy while the victim was in class at Gavilan College. The contents of the purse totaled $500. The unknown suspect is at large.
