Robber takes $4K in Gucci purses
A man stole $4,000 worth of Gucci purses from the Saks Fifth Avenue outlet, pushing a store employee to the ground to escape in a waiting car. The man remains at large.
“Basically, it was kind of a shoplift gone bad,” Sgt. Wes Stanford said.
The man grabbed four purses from the Saks Fifth Avenue outlet, 681 Leavesley Road, at about 11:52 a.m. Saturday, police said.
He pushed an employee to the ground after she stood in front of the door to prevent him from leaving, Stanford said.
The suspect who committed the robbery was described as a white male with blond hair who appears to be about 30 years old. The man was about six feet, three inches and 210 pounds, police said.
The driver of the getaway car was also described as a white man with blond hair who looks to be in his 30s. That man was five feet, one inch and 170 pounds.
The getaway vehicle was a dark blue GMC Envoy with chrome wheels and no license plates, and possibly had gray leather seats and tinted windows.
Man tries to stab father with 4-year-old son
Hugo Cervantes Zavala, 23, of El Cerrito Way, was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon about 6:18 p.m. Friday after he allegedly pulled a knife in the Wal-Mart parking lot, 7150 Camino Arroyo, on another man who had been shopping with his 4-year-old son, police said.
Zavala drove by the victim in the parking lot and asked him if he was a Sureño. Then, Zavala got out of the car, pushed the victim and tried to stab him with the knife, Sgt. Wes Stanford said. Police responded to the area, saw the Zavala leaving in his vehicle and arrested him, Stanford said.
Woman complains of vandalism, reveals tale of road rage and racing
A woman notified police at 1:12 p.m. Saturday that she believed someone had scratched her car in the Lowe’s parking lot, 7151 Camino Arroyo, following a road rage incident on U.S. 101. The victim admitted that she had been tailgating the suspect’s vehicle in the fast lane, and she flipped off the suspect after the suspect tapped on the brakes, police said. Following that incident, there was some racing going on between the two of them on the highway, police said.
The victim noticed the suspect’s car at Wal-Mart, 7150 Camino Arroyo, and blocked the car in, according to police. The victim contacted police, who forwarded the case on to the district attorney’s office.
