Petty theft

A thief stole a disabled person’s placard from an unlocked 1997 Toyota Tacoma on Eigleberry and Fifth streets, 3:55 p.m. March 14.

A thief took a debit card from a business on 700 block of First Street, 6:19 p.m. March 12.

A thief or thieves stole a Garmin GPS valued at $114 from a silver 2002 Mitsubishi Galant on Broadway Street, between 10 and 11:37 p.m. March 15.

A thief took two 18 packs of Bud Light beers from a store on First Street without paying for them, 11:16 p.m. March 17.

A thief or thieves took a pink iPod Nano and a few other unspecified items in a bag from Vickery Lane, between 9 and 9:20 a.m. March 10.

A thief or thieves took a black Diamond BMX bicycle valued at $225 from Hanna Street, between 12 p.m. March 13 and 1 p.m. March 14.

A thief or thieves stole a Modem bike valued at $300 from West 10th Street, between 6:25 and 7:30 p.m. March 15.

Auto burglary

A burglar or burglars broke into a white 2005 GMC 150 on Rea Street and stole a car stereo and Sirius radio valued at $500 and a speaker valued at $300, between 9 p.m. March 11 and 6:30 a.m. March 12. The burglar or burglars also caused $200 in damage after breaking the dashboard around the stereo.

A burglar or burglars broke into a dark green 1994 Mercury Tracer on Filice Drive and stole $4 in coins from the center console and caused $100 in damage while trying to steal the stereo, between 8 p.m. March 11 and 7 a.m. March 12.

A burglar or burglars broke the driver’s side window of a white Toyota Sequoia on First Street and stole a purse with a credit card and identification inside, between 7 and 8:43 p.m. March 12.

A burglars or burglars stole a computer valued at $4,000 from a vehicle on Fifth and Monterey streets, 9 a.m. Feb. 4.

A burglar or burglars broke the driver’s window of a 2005 Toyota Tacoma on First Street and Miller Avenue and took a window-mounted GPS unit valued at $500, between 7 p.m. March 16 and 9 a.m. March 17.

Fight

Two people were involved in a physical altercation at Gilroy High School, 750 W. 10th St., 1:15 p.m. March 12. One person was bit by the other and required medical attention. Both were cited and released.

Animal ordinances

An unidentified person was bit by a dog on Monterey Street, 12:31 p.m. March 12.

A person on Wren Avenue was cited for having a barking dog, 11:10 p.m. March 12.

Non-injury accident

A white 1998 Dodge Neon and a black 1988 Toyota were involved in a non-injury accident on Chestnut Street, 4:22 p.m. March 12.

Injury accident

A white 2003 Pontiac Vibe and a black 2008 Saturn Vue collided near Mantelli Drive and Arbor Street, 7:02 p.m. March 12. Both parties complained of pain and one was treated and taken for medical attention.

A blue 2002 Mercury was involved in an accident near Arroyo Circle and Gilman Road, 12 p.m. March 16.

Disturbance

Police cited a person on Snowberry Court under the social host ordinance, 12:46 a.m. March 13.

Residential burglary

A Dawn Way resident unlocked his garage and went back into his house. When he returned, he found an unknown person in his vehicle. The suspect fled on foot to a newer green Honda four-door vehicle, taking a driver’s license from the center console, between 7:30 and 7:50 a.m. March 13.

A burglar or burglar took a Dell laptop computer valued at $500, a black metal BB gun valued at $200, silver necklaces valued at $50, a silver ring with a Jerusalem cross on a square face valued at $100 and a Coptic cross valued at $900 from a residence on Santa Barbara Drive, 12:20 p.m. March 15.

Stolen vehicle

A thief or thieves stole a blue 1992 Honda Accord from Eigleberry Street, between 1 and 7:54 a.m. March 13.

A thief or thieves stole a black 1991 Honda Accord from Delta Drive, 7:57 a.m. March 13.

A thief or thieves stole a black 2000 Nissan Sentra parked in the 7900 block of Monterey Street, 1:28 p.m. March 14.

A thief or thieves stole a black 1992 Honda Civic from Eigleberry Street, 2:19 a.m. March 16.

A thief or thieves took a black 1996 Toyota from Grant Court, 10:10 p.m. March 17.

Missing juvenile

A juvenile was reported missing from the 300 block of Gurries Drive, 11 p.m. March 12.

A juvenile was reported missing from Forest Street, 7:40 a.m. March 11.

A juvenile was reported missing from Eigleberry Street, between 4 and 5 p.m. March 13.

A juvenile was reported missing from Alexander Street, 4:30 p.m. March 15.

Recovered vehicle

A black 1992 Honda Accord was recovered on West Ninth Street, 1:37 p.m. March 13.

Vehicle tampering

An unknown person or persons tampered with a vehicle ignition on a 1990 BMW on Valley Oaks Court, between 9 a.m. March 11 and 4 p.m. March 13.

An unknown person or persons tampered with a red 2000 Chevrolet Silverado on Lilly Avenue, 6 a.m. March 12.

An unknown person or persons tampered with a gold Chevrolet Malibu on Lilly Avenue, 6 a.m. March 12.

Resisting arrest

Two people in a black 1995 Acura Integra were arrested after being stopped for a vehicle code violation on Monterey Street, 5:12 p.m. March 13. One person attempted to flee and failed to obey the officer’s commands. The other person was in violation of his gang probation.

Found property

A Visa card was left at Old Navy, 950 Renz Lane, 4:10 p.m. March 13.

An unidentified person found a wallet in the 7000 block of Camino Arroyo, 4:38 p.m. March 13.

An unidentified person found a bike that had been spray painted black valued at $50 and a blue and silver 21-speed Mongoose bike on Miller Avenue, 10:27 a.m. March 14.

An unidentified person found a cell phone on the 800 block of Eighth Street, 6:25 p.m. March 14.

Graffiti

Three juveniles were arrested for possession of graffiti and vandalism tools on East Eighth Street, 5:52 p.m. March 13.

Bike theft

A thief or thieves took a blue BMX bike with white handlebars valued at $415 and a red BMX bike with black handlebars valued at $200 from the 100 block of First Street, 4:41 p.m. March 13.

Public intoxication

Richard Morales was arrested for public intoxication on Calabrese Way after he tried to force his way into another person’s home, 8:16 p.m. March 13.

Hit and run accident

A red 1992 Chevrolet Blazer, a black 1996 Honda Civic and a white 2007 Chevrolet Silverado were involved in hit-and-run accident, 6:49 a.m. March 14.

Assault

A couple was involved in a domestic dispute on Siena Court, 1:59 p.m. March 14.

An unidentified person slapped someone in the hand and slapped another person in the back of his head on Sherwood Drive, 8:29 p.m. March 16.

A juvenile was arrested for assault on Grant Court, 1 p.m. March 17.

Two people were involved in an argument that later turned physical. One person was hospitalized at Saint Louise Regional Hospital, and staff reported it to the police, 12:28 a.m. March 18.

Threat

A suspect sent threatening text messages to a person on Westwood Drive, 8:07 p.m. March 14.

Suspicious behavior

A person was found at the back of a property on Stutz Way claiming to be looking for tires with an employee’s permission, 12:10 a.m. March 15. The person’s story was later found to be untrue. There was no probable cause for an arrest, and the person was warned for trespassing and prowling.

Grand theft

A thief stole decorative hubs from a white 2007 Cadillac Escalade on Muirfield Way, between 10 p.m. March 13 and 9:30 a.m. March 14.

A thief or thieves stole a video game system valued at $130, a Blackberry Storm valued at $157 and a portable DVD player valued at $200 from Montebello Drive, between Jan. 1 and March 15.

Fraud

A person on East 10th Street lost $600 after someone told him he would receive $2 million in lottery winnings if he sent $600 to Jamaica, March 14.

A thief stole a Olea Court resident’s credit card number and used it at a store in Reno, Nev., 3:19 p.m. March 16.

Lost property

An unidentified person lost property on Forest Street, between 11:30 a.m. March 13 and 4:38 p.m. March 15.

Juvenile disturbance

At least two female juveniles committed three separate bicycle thefts on Kern Avenue, 11:09 a.m. March 16.

Robbery

A thief stole a Blackberry cell phone from a person on Fourth Street and Miller Avenue, 4:40 p.m. March 16. The victim chased the thief, and the suspect dropped the phone and fled the area.

Vandalism

A vandal damaged a silver 2002 Honda Civic on Murray Avenue, between 9:30 p.m. March 13 and 9:15 a.m. March 14.
