Residential burglary

A burglar or burglar entered an unlocked storage room at the back of a house on Monterey Street and stole Corona and Gordon Biersch beers valued at $68, a box of dried apricots valued at $35, a backpack gas-powered leaf blower valued at $300, a Dewalt cordless drill with charger valued at $130, a power grinder valued at $70, miscellaneous extension cords valued at $300 and miscellaneous hand tools valued at $200, between 9 a.m. Aug. 23 and 7:45 a.m. Aug. 24.

A burglar or burglars stole a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson gun valued at $550, a white gold diamond ring valued at $200, hand tools valued at $100 and checks from a checkbook from a residence on West 10th Street, between 8 a.m. July 26 and 5 p.m. Aug. 1.

A Culp Drive resident had two people at her house for 45 minutes, between 2:45 and 3:15 p.m. Aug. 25. While they were there, a man known only as “Dave” appeared to be casing the house as the he walked around the exterior and interior. After giving the two suspects a ride, the resident returned to the house to find she had an unknown amount of jewelry missing.

A burglar or burglars took a jar with about $400 in change and small bills from the victim’s room on Johnson Way, between 12 and 9 p.m. Aug. 26.

A burglar entered an apartment on East Seventh Street through an unlocked door or window and took a cell phone valued at $100 and $300 in cash, 1:22 a.m. Aug. 30.

A burglar or burglars entered a home on Carmel Street and stole a 14-karat gold necklace valued at $400 with a horseshoe and a sapphire on it and a sapphire and diamond bracelet valued at $400, between Aug. 5 and 31.

Assault

A juvenile at the children’s home on IOOF Avenue assaulted a staff member, 8:10 a.m. Aug. 25.

A man accused a woman of seeing another man and slapped her in the head, punched her in the arm and pulled her hair on Church Street, 3 p.m. Aug. 28. As the argument continued later, the man pushed the woman. He also shook a 1-year-old girl for about six seconds and slapped her in the leg to get her to stop crying.

A male and female were involved in a physical altercation on West Ninth Street, 1:16 a.m. Aug. 31.

A grandmother and daughter were involved in a physical altercation on Fairview Drive, 9:01 p.m. Aug. 31.

Commercial burglary

A burglar or burglars cut a hole in a wall of a business on First Street and stole a case of beer, 3:03 p.m. Aug. 29. The security camera wire was cut.

Public intoxication

An intoxicated female on No Name Uno was transported to Saint Louise Hospital for treatment of medical problems, 10:08 p.m. Aug. 29.

Threat

An unidentified person called a male Hanna Street resident from a blocked cell phone number and threatened to “break his neck,” 1:24 a.m. Aug. 26.

Bike theft

An unlocked blue Fitbikeco bike valued at $700 was taken from Las Animas Veterans Park, 350 Mantelli Drive, between 7 and 8:20 p.m. Aug. 31.

Petty theft

A thief or thieves removed two fence boards and pulled four newly purchased interior doors valued at $344 from the backyard of a Carmel Street home into the neighboring backyard, between 8 a.m. Aug. 18 and 11 a.m. Aug. 21.

A thief stole items from Target, Feb. 9.

A thief stole auto registration cards from Glenview Drive, between 11 p.m. Aug. 22 and 9 a.m. Aug. 24.

A thief stole a newspaper rack valued at $50 from Uvas Street and Miller Avenue, between 8:45 and 9:15 a.m. Aug. 27.

A thief stole a bottle of cologne, reading glasses and registration from a gray 1989 Honda Civic on Hanna Street, 2 a.m. Aug. 27.

A thief stole a coin collection mechanism valued at $50 from Monterey Road, 11 p.m. Aug. 25.

A thief stole a gray Trek bike valued at $50 from Sixth and Rosanna streets, between 7 and 8 p.m. Aug. 25.

A thief stole $300 in batteries from Arroyo Circle, between 5 p.m. Aug. 27 and 8 a.m. Aug. 28.

Injury accident

A green 1996 Saturn was traveling eastbound on Leavesley Road in the left lane and hit a red 2005 Toyota Camry that was starting to enter traffic from the right curb. The Toyota was given the right of way in the right-most and middle lanes, but the other car didn’t see it crossing into the left-most lane and did not yield the right of way and broad-sided the vehicle as it was entering the lane, 2:27 p.m. Aug. 25.

A 5-year-old child ran out in front of a moving vehicle in a parking lot on Arroyo Circle, 1:43 p.m. Aug. 31. The child was released by paramedics at the scene.

Stolen vehicle

A thief stole a white 1995 Honda Civic that was parked on Gurries Drive, 2:15 a.m. Aug. 26.

A white 1991 Mazda was stolen from Gavilan Market, 8110 Westwood Drive, between 10 p.m. Aug. 29 and 6 a.m. Aug. 30.

A white 2002 Chevrolet van with Calif. license plate no. 6W51572 was taken from Hanna Street, between 9 p.m. Aug. 29 and 10 a.m. Aug. 30. The van contained $1,500 in miscellaneous vending machine items and $100 in tools.

Fraud

A thief used an IOOF Avenue resident’s credit card to purchase an online game, between July 19 and 30.

A thief used credit cards from a business on Montebello Drive, Aug. 23.

A man was visiting Gilroy from Spain. While in the United States, he discovered that more than $2,300 dollars were fraudulently charged to his Visa card in Houston, Texas, and cities in various states.

Auto burglary

A cordless drill valued at $50 and a pair of golf gloves valued at $20 were taken from a vehicle parked in the Gilroy Dispatch, 6400 Monterey Road, 10:55 a.m. Aug. 26. A male on a bike was seen leaving the parking lot and a suspect was stopped down the street, but no evidence was recovered on him and a witness was unable to identify him in a field lineup.

A burglar or burglars stole a tan DVD player valued at $2,000, a GPS Navigator valued at $150 and a pink Motorola Razr cell phone from a 2006 Toyota on No Name Uno, 4:45 p.m. Aug. 22.

A burglar or burglars stole a CD collection valued at $500, a Sirius Satellite radio valued at $50 and a cell phone in a box valued at $100 from Carmel Street, between 2 and 3 a.m. Aug. 24.

A burglar or burglars stole two large CD cases with more than 1,000 CDs valued at $12,000 from a white 2008 Nissan, 8 a.m. Aug. 26.

A burglar or burglars stole a white iPod valued at $150 from a silver 2001 Nissan on Santa Barbara Drive, between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 25 and 8:10 a.m. Aug. 26.

A burglar or burglars stole a black Apple computer from a silver 2007 Chevrolet on Renz Lane, between 5 and 9 a.m. Aug. 25.

Found property

An unidentified person found a Superman wallet with $11 and a Social Security card in it on Hanna Street, 9:13 a.m. Aug. 24.

An unidentified person found a black duffel bag with women’s clothes and gym cards on Miller Avenue, 12:18 p.m. Aug. 26.

An unidentified person found a small black and gray purse on Camino Arroyo, 9 p.m. Aug. 25.

An unidentified person found a backpack with medical books in it on West 10th Street, 3 p.m. Aug. 31.

Hit and run

Two vehicles collided near Fifth and Monterey streets, causing minor damage to the rear bumper of the second vehicle. The first vehicle then fled the area, 5:23 p.m. Aug. 24.

A hit and run collision occurred near Chestnut and East 10th streets, 4:50 p.m. Aug. 25.

A driver of a red compact sedan caused a collision resulting in injuries on Camino Arroyo and fled the scene, 2:09 p.m. Aug. 31.

A 2006 Chevrolet Silverado was involved in a hit and run accident on East Seventh and Maple streets, between 6 and 11 a.m. Aug. 26.

Lost property

An unidentified person lost property on East Tenth Street, 12 p.m., Aug. 20.

An unidentified person lost paperwork from a white 1998 Ford on Garden Court, between July 1 and Aug. 1.

An unidentified person lost property on Rosanna Street, 3 p.m. June 11.

An unidentified person lost property on Hanna Street, between April 2 and 14.

Missing juvenile

A repeat runaway left her home on Montebello Drive and has not been seen or heard from since, 10 a.m. Aug. 21. She frequents the area of Eighth and Church streets.

A runaway juvenile was reported missing from Rogers Lane, 4 p.m. Aug. 26.

A missing juvenile out of the Lodi jurisdiction was reported near West Eight and Monterey streets, 5:41 p.m. Aug. 30.

A runaway juvenile was reported missing from her Weaver Court home, 5 p.m. Aug. 30. She returned home about 11 p.m.

A runaway from Sunnyvale called police to report she was ready to turn herself in, 2:49 a.m. Aug. 31. She was taken to a children’s shelter.
