The Gilroy Police Department responded to a robbery/hit and run reported at 9:35 a.m. Monday at the Gilroy Premium Outlets on 8300 Arroyo Circle.
According to a GPD press release, the incident involved two suspects. One used physical force to rob a victim of an undisclosed amount of money belonging to the outlet stores, and the second was driving the getaway car, police say.
The press report states a nearby citizen witnessed the robbery and intervened, rendering aid to the injured victim. Because of this, the first suspect was unable to force money from the victim and fled to the getaway vehicle.
As they fled the scene, suspects then intentionally struck the two victims with their car, according to the report.
Police say the victims sustained minor injuries during the incident and were transported to a local hospital.
Officers located the getaway vehicle, a red 1992 Chrysler LeBaron, unoccupied a short distance from the crime scene.
Police describe the first suspect as Hispanic male in his 20s, 5 feet 5 inches tall with a medium build and dark complexion. They describe the second suspect as a Hispanic male in his 20s, 5 feet 10-inches tall, having a light complexion, weighing approximately 200 pounds and wearing a black sweater and black pants.
