Morgan Hill – Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who tried to kidnap a 9-year-old girl in unincorporated Morgan Hill as she walked home from a friend’s house and have released a sketch of the suspect.
As the girl walked home on Laurel Road at East Main Avenue about 4:19pm, Dec. 17, the man grabbed her wrist and pulled her toward his truck, described by the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office as a large, black two-door pick-up, possibly a Toyota.
The girl began hitting her attempted kidnapper with a bag she was carrying, broke free and ran home, where her mother called 9-1-1.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult, mid-20s, 5-foot-10 with a thin build. He has black, wavy, shoulder-length hair. On the day of the attack, he was wearing a blue T-shirt and baggy blue jeans. Sheriff’s detectives describe the suspect’s Toyota as having an extended cab and an advertisement on the passenger’s side door that possibly resembles a dragon inside a circle. The truck has a small dent on the right side of the tailgate.
