The Gilroy Police Department arrested and cited a handful of people from Feb. 9 through Feb. 13. Below are a few of the incidents; you can read the full report in the PDF at left.
- Criminal threat: Someone opened a bank account at Wells Fargo on Monterey Street Feb. 9 at 12:50 p.m. apparently with $5,000 in checks from a closed Chase bank account. An employee at Wells Fargo flagged the transaction as fraud after which the suspect allegedly called the Wells Fargo employee and threatened to stab him.
- Two suspects stole a person’s car in the parking lot at Target in broad daylight Feb. 9. Around 3 p.m. it was reported that the victim’s car was stolen along with the person’s debit car, a computer, a Sony game and Garmin GPS system inside the car.
- At Walmart, meanwhile, a juvenile was caught shoplifting around 4 p.m. Feb. 9. He stole Axe body wash, a stuffed monkey and a Green Latern action figure, of which the total value was about $20.
- A home break-in was reported Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. on Glenwood Drive, where the victim reported that his TV and 10-gauge shotgun were stolen.
- A minor reported to the GPD that he or she had been sexually and physically abused. The victim was fearful about being at home and so the victim was taken into protective custody and trasported to a shelter by Social Services.
- Two young men allegedly stole two cases of Budweiser beer from CVS Pharmacy on First Street around 12:16 a.m. Saturday. Adam Gregory Guajardo, 20, and Ruben Alejandro Perez, 19, were arrested for petty theft after one of the men stole the beer then fled to where the other man was waiting in a vehicle. Police stopped the suspects shortly after and they were arrested. The 18- and 30-packs of Budweiser are valued at $32.
