SANTA CLARA—Twenty Christopher High School cheerleaders were selected to perform at the 41st annual Charlie Wedemeyer High School All-Star Football Game Aug. 1 at Levi’s Stadium.
The cheerleaders performed a special routine at halftime for a crowd of nearly 8,000 people and cheered the South team—which included players from Christopher and Gilroy High schools—to a 14-6 victory.
“Saturday was such an amazing experience,” Cougar coach Brooke Shrull said.
The Cougars squad consisted of Gisselle Cisneros, Alyssa Salgado, Lucero Gonzalez, Molly May, Cassie Cefalu, Justice Turner, Jacynda Hughes, Sonita Freitag, Savannah Yawary, Brianna Howard, Ashlyn Busch, Alyssa Mussynski, Dominique Morales, Katerina Cade, Ashley Babcock, Alea Furushiro, Vanessa Belleau, Madison Owens, varsity dance captain, Mia Ruiz and varsity cheer captain, Viana Alexandre. The team is coached by Brooke Shrull, Brooke Urtiz and coach Nicole Babcock.
